Introduction – APJ Abdul Kalam

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was his full name. Also called the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam the missile man of India, he was born into a lower-middle-class family in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He was born on 15th October, in the year 1931. He has revolutionized various things in the system, he has left behind things to ponder about, ideas to inculcate in our lives.

APJ Abdul has left humanity to remember for the great things he had done, he was the eleventh president of India in the year tenure of 2002-2007. He was a scientist and he played a major role in the development of nuclear weapons and programs. He is indeed worshipped by the science students, they all want to walk on his morals and ideas.

His quotes on dreams can leave anyone spellbound, the idea that dreams are those that don’t let you sleep and not the ones you see while you are sleeping. He would say, to fulfil one’s dream one needs to be in the perpetual state of alertness and activity, rather than just dreaming about things you want.

He had earned a degree in aeronautical engineering from Madras Institute of Technology. He later joined DRDO and ISRO. He played a major role in space-related machinery and researches. He was perpetually motivated to work towards a better India.

He wrote various books, among those- one was his autobiography, Wings of Fire (1999). The two major awards he received were country’s highest honours- the Padma Vibhusan and the Bharat Patna.
