जब सोहन ने ध्यान से सोचा तो उसे याद आया कि साफ़ सफाई करने वाले दोनों कर्मचारी अपने घर किसी काम से चले गए थे। होटल में ज़्यादा गंदगी नहीं फैलती, आखिर ग्राहक थोड़े समझदार हैं लेकिन फिर भी इतने दिन सफाई न होने के कारण शायद होटल में एक अजीब प्रकार कि गंध फ़ैल गयी होगी। सबसे बड़ी बात यह कि यह बात सोहन को कैसे पता नहीं लगी, सोहन की माँ कि तबियत कुछ समय से ख़राब चल रही थी और यह अक्सर घर पर रहता था, माँ का ध्यान रखने। होटल उसने अपने कर्मचारी प्रमोद के भरोसे छोड़ रखी थी, यह लापरवाही देखने के बाद उसे एहसास हुआ कि एक मालिक की दुकान में क्या अहमियत होती है, वह किसी को भी काम में ढ़िलाई नहीं करने देता। ग्राहकों के न आने का सबसे मुख्य कारण अब सबके सामने था, प्रमोद ने शर्मिन्दगी के साथ माफ़ी माँगी। सोहन ने तुरंत ही सफाई विभाग के लोगों को बुला कर, अपने होटल के साथ – साथ, आस – पास के होटलों की भी बहुत ही अच्छे से साफ़ – सफाई करा ली। कुछ ही दिनों में जब सभी ग्राहक आना शुरू हुए तो उन्हें साफ़ – सफाई के साथ नए रंग की दीवार और पेंटिंग भी देखने को मिली जो कि माहौल को और भी खुश नुमा बना रही थी। डिलाइट होटल का खाना तो पहले से ही बहुत अच्छा था, नए तरीके से अंदर की रंगाई – पुताई के साथ – साथ साफ़ सफाई के बाद तो मानो वह नया होटल लग रहा था। धीरे -धीरे ग्राहकों की संख्या बढ़ना शुरू हुई, कुछ ही सप्ताह में पहले से भी ज़्यादा ग्राहक आने लग गए, कई तो उसे नया होटल समझ कर आ रहे थे। सोहन का धंधा और होटल फिर से चल पड़ा, पिछले बार से भी ज़्यादा आमदनी हुई जो कि बस विवेक के प्रयास के कारण ही हो पाया। विवेक ने अपने ग्राहकों से पूछ कर सोहन का होटल बंद होने से बचा लिया। सोहन और विवेक के बीच इस वाकये के बाद दोस्ती और भी गहरी हो गयी।

Translation
When Sohan thought carefully, he remembered that both the cleaners/sweepers had left for their home for some work. There was not much litter in the hotel, after all, the customers were a bit sensible but still, due to lack of cleanliness for so many days, a strange type of smell might have spread across the hotel. The biggest thing was how Sohan did not know about this, Sohan’s mother was ill for quite some time and he often stayed at home to take care of his mother. He had left the hotel on the shoulders of his employee Pramod, after seeing the carelessness, he realized that what was the significance of a shop owner, he does not allow anyone to be lackadaisical. The main reason for the absence of customers was now in front of everyone, Pramod apologized with feeling shameful about it. Sohan immediately called the people of the sanitation department and got a very thorough cleaning of his hotel as well as the nearby hotels. In a few days, when all the customers started coming, they also got to see cleanliness along with newly painted walls and paintings, which was making the ambience even more pleasant. The food at the Delight Hotel was already pretty good, newly added paintings along with the newly painted walls, and after the cleaning, it seemed like a new hotel. Gradually, the number of customers started increasing, within a few weeks more customers started coming, many were considering it as a new hotel. Sohan’s business and the hotel started doing well again, with earnings even more than the last time, which was only due to Vivek’s efforts. Vivek saved Sohan’s hotel from closure by asking his own customers. The friendship between Sohan and Vivek became even more intimate after this incident.
