मैं हूस्टन टैक्सेस प्रशासन की भी प्रशंसा करूँगा, जिसने दो दिन पहले अचानक बदले मौसम के बावजूद इतने कम समय में हालात को सम्भाला और व्यवस्थाओं को चुस्त दुरुस्त किया।

इस कार्यक्रम का नाम हाउडी मोदी है, लेकिन मोदी अकेले कुछ नहीं है। मैं 130 करोड़ भारतीयों के आदेश पर काम करने वाला एक साधारण व्यक्ति हूँ। जब आपने पूछा, “हाउडी मोदी” तो जवाब है, “भारत में सब अच्छा है।”
The name of this program is Howdy Modi, but Modi is nothing alone. I am an ordinary person who works on the orders of 130 crore Indians. So, when you ask, “Howdy Modi?”, the answer is: all is well in India.

भारत की अलग अलग भाषाएँ हमारे लिबरल डेमोक्रेसी (स्वतंत्र लोकतंत्र) की बहुत बड़ी पहचान है। सदियों से हमारे देश में सैकड़ों भाषाएँ अस्तित्व की भावनाओं के साथ आगे बढ़ रही हैं। और आज भी करोड़ों लोगों की मात्रभाषा बनी हुई है।
Different languages ​​of India are a great identity of our Liberal Democracy. For centuries, hundreds of languages ​​in our country are moving forward with feelings of survival. And even today the language of millions of people remains.

Unity in diversity is our heritage, this is our specialty. This diversity of India is the basis of our Liberal Democracy, this is our power, and this is our inspiration.

हम जहाँ भी जाते हैं, अपने डाइवर्सिटी और डेमोक्रेसी के संस्कार साथ साथ लेकर चलते हैं । आज यहाँ स्टेडियम में बैठे 50000 से ज़्यादा भारतीय हमारी महान परम्परा के प्रतिनिधि बनकर यहाँ उपस्थित हैं।
Wherever we go, we carry along the rites of our diversity and democracy. Today, more than 50000 Indians sitting in the stadium are present here as representatives of our great tradition.

आप में से कई तो ऐसे भी हैं जिन्होंने भारत के डेमोक्रेसी के सबसे बड़े उत्सव 2019 के चुनाव में भी अपना सक्रिय योगदान दिया है । वाकई ये एक ऐसा चुनाव था जिसने इंडियन डेमोक्रेसी की शक्ति का परचम पूरी दुनिया में लहरा दिया ।
There are many of you who have also contributed actively to the election of 2019, the biggest celebration of India’s democracy. It was indeed an election that brought the power of Indian Democracy to the world.

इस चुनाव  में 61 करोड़ से अधिक वोटर्स ने हिस्सा लिया, एक तरह से अमेरिका की टोटल पॉपुलेशन  का लगभग दोगुना। इसमें भी 8 करोड़ युवा तो ऐसे थे जो फर्स्ट टाइम वोटर थे ।
Over 61 crore voters took part in this election, in a way almost double the total population of America. There were also 8 crore youth who were first time voters.

भारत के डेमोक्रेसी के इतिहास में सबसे ज़्यादा महिला वोटर्स ने इस बार वोट डाला था और इस बार सबसे ज़्यादा संख्या में महिलाएँ चुन कर भी आयी हैं।
In the history of democracy of India, the highest number of women voters had voted this time and this time the largest number of women have also come.

साथियों 2019 के चुनाव ने एक और नया रिकॉर्ड साबित किया, 60 साल के बाद ऐसा हुआ जब पूर्ण बहुमत के साथ बनी कोई सरकार अपना 5 साल का कार्यकाल पूरा करके पहले से ज़्यादा संख्या बल के साथ लौटी।
Friends, the 2019 election proved another new record, after 60 years, when a government formed with an absolute majority returned with more force than before, after completing its 5-year term.

ये सब आखिर क्यों हुआ ? किसकी वजह से हुआ ? जी नहीं, मोदी की वजह से नहीं हुआ, ये हिंदुस्तान वासियों के कारण हुआ।
Why did all this happen? What caused it? No, it was not because of Modi, it was due to the people of India.

साथियों, धैर्य हम भारतीयों की पहचान है, लेकिन अब हम अधीर हैं देश के विकास के लिए। 21वीं सदी में देश को नई ऊंचाई पर ले जाने के लिए, आज भारत का सबसे चर्चित शब्द है विकास। भारत का सबसे बड़ा मंत्र है सबका साथ सबका विकास। आज भारत की सबसे बड़ी नीति है जनभागीदार।
Friends, patience is the hallmark of Indians, but now we are impatient for the development of the country. To take the country to a new height in the 21st century, today India’s most popular word is development. India’s biggest mantra is ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. Today, India’s biggest policy is public participation.

आज भारत का सबसे प्रचलित नारा है संकल्प से सिद्धि। और आज भारत का सबसे बड़ा संकल्प है न्यू इंडिया। भारत आज नई इंडिया के सपने को पूरा करने के लिए दिन रात एक कर रहा है, और इसमें सबसे खास बात है कि हम किसी दूसरे से नहीं बल्कि खुद अपने आप से मुकाबला कर रहे हैं ।
Today, the most popular slogan of India is the accomplishment of will. And today India’s biggest determination is New India. India is working day and night to fulfill the dream of new India, and the most important thing in this is that we are not competing with anyone but ourselves. 

We are challanging our self, we are changing ourselves.

साथियों, आज भारत पहले के मुकाबले और तेज़ गति से आगे बढ़ना चाहता है, आज भारत कुछ लोगों की इस सोच को चैलेंज कर रहा है, जिनकी सोच है, “कुछ बदल ही नहीं सकता है।”
Friends, today India wants to move faster than before, today India is challenging the thinking of some people, who think “nothing can be changed”.

बीते 5 सालों में 130 करोड़ भारतीयों ने मिलकर हर क्षेत्र में ऐसे नतीजे हासिल किये हैं जिनकी पहले कोई कल्पना भी नहीं कर सकता था।
In the last 5 years, 130 crore Indians together have achieved results in every field which no one could have imagined before.

We are aiming high, We are achieving higher.

7 दशकों में देश का रूरल सेनिटेशन 38 प्रतिशत पहुँचा था, 5 साल में हमने 11 करोड़ से भी ज़्यादा शौचालय बनवाए। आज रूरल सेनिटेशन 99 प्रतिशत पर है।
In 7 decades, the rural sanitation of the country had reached 38 percent, in 5 years we have built more than 11 crore toilets. Today, rural sanitation is at 99 percent.

देश में कुकिंग गैस कनेक्शन भी पहले 55 प्रतिशत के करीब था। 5 साल के भीतर हमने 95 प्रतिशत पहुँचा दिया। सिर्फ 5 साल में हमने 15 करोड़ लोगों को गैस कनेक्शन से जोड़ा है।
Cooking gas connections in the country were also close to 55 percent earlier. We reached 95 percent within 5 years. In just 5 years, we have connected 150 million people with gas connections.

भारत में रूरल रोड कनेक्टिविटी यह भी पहले सिर्फ 55 प्रतिशत थी, 5 साल में हम इसे 97 प्रतिशत तक ले गए। सिर्फ 5 सालों में हमने देश में 2 लाख किलोमीटर से ज़्यादा सड़कों का निर्माण किया है।
Rural road connectivity in India was also only 55 percent earlier, in 5 years we moved it to 97 percent. In just 5 years, we have built more than 2 lakh kilometers of roads in the country.

भारत में 50 प्रतिशत से भी कम लोगों के बैंक अकॉउंट थे और आज 100 प्रतिशत लोगों के परिवार बैंकिंग सेवा से जुड़ चुके हैं।
There were less than 50 percent bank accounts in India and today 100 percent of the families have joined the banking service.

साथियों, आज जब लोगों की चिंता कम हो रही है तो वो बड़े सपने देख पा रहे हैं। उन्हें प्राप्त करने के लिए वे सारी एनर्जी सही दिशा में लगा रहे हैं।
Friends, today when people are less worried, they are able to dream bigger. To achieve it, they are putting all their energy in the right direction.

हमारे लिए जितना ease of doing business का महत्त्व है उतना ही ease of living का भी। इसका रास्ता है एम्पावरमेंट।
As much as “ease of doing business” is important to us, so is the “ease of living”. Its path is Empowerment.

जब देश का सामान्य मानवी एम्पॉवर होगा तो देश का सोशल और इकोनॉमिक डेवलपमेंट बहुत तेज़ गति से आगे बढ़ेगा।
When the common man of our country will be empowered, the social and economic development of the country will proceed at a very fast pace.

मैं आपको एक उदाहरण देता हूँ। आजकल कहा जाता है Data is the new oil. पूरी दुनिया में अगर सबसे कम कीमत पर डेटा कहीं उपलब्ध है तो वो देश है भारत।
I will give you an example. Nowadays, it is called, Data is the new oil. If the data is available at the lowest price anywhere in the world, it’s none other than our country, India.

आज भारत में 1 GB डेटा की कीमत है सिर्फ 25 – 30 सेंट के आसपास। यानी एक डॉलर का चौथाई हिस्सा और मैं ये भी बताना चाहूँगा की 1 GB की वर्ल्ड एवरेज की कीमत इससे 25 से 30 गुना ज़्यादा है।
Today in India, the cost of 1 GB of data is just around 25 – 30 cents. That is, a quarter of a dollar and I would also like to say that the price of 1 GB world average is 25 to 30 times more than this.

ये सस्ता डेटा भारत में एक नए डिजिटल इंडिया की पहचान बन रहा है। सस्ते डेटा ने भारत में गवर्नेंस को रीडिफाइन भी किया है। आज भारत में स्टेट गवर्नमेंट और सैंट्रल गवर्नमेंट की करीब करीब 10,000 सर्विसेज ऑनलाइन उपलब्ध हैं।
This cheap data is becoming the identity of a new digital India in India. Cheap data has also redefined governance in India. Today, about 10,000 services of state government and central government are available online in India.

साथियों, एक समय था जब पासपोर्ट बनने में 2 से 3 महीने का समय लगता था। अब एक हफ्ते से भी कम समय में पासपोर्ट घर आ जाता है।
Friends, There was a time when it took 2 to 3 months to get a passport. Now in less than a week, the passport comes home.

पहले वीज़ा को लेकर किस तरह की दिक्कतें थी, ये शायद आप लोग ज़्यादा जानते हैं। आज अमेरिका भारत के E-visa फैसिलिटी के सबसे बड़े यूज़र्स में से एक है।
You probably know better about what kind of problems there were with the visa earlier. Today, America is one of the largest users of India’s E-visa facility.

साथियों, एक समय था, जब नयी कंपनी के रजिस्ट्रेशन में 2 – 3 हफ्ते लग जाते थे। अब 24 घंटे में नई कंपनी रजिस्टर हो जाती है।
Friends, There was a time when it used to take 2-3 weeks to register a new company. Now a new company gets registered in 24 hours.

एक समय था जब टैक्स रिटर्न भरना बहुत बड़ा सिरदर्द होता था। टैक्स रिफंड आने में महीनों लग जाते थे। अब जो बदलाव आया है, सुनेंगे तो चौंक जाएंगे।
There was a time when filing tax returns was a big headache. It used to take months to get tax refund. Now you will be shocked if you hear the changes that have come.

इस बार 31 अगस्त को एक दिन में, मैं सिर्फ एक दिन की बात कर रहा हूँ, 5 million  लोगों ने अपना इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न ऑनलाइन भरा है, यानि हूस्टन की कुल पॉपुलेशन की भी डबल से ज़्यादा।
This time on August 31, in one day, I am talking about just one day, 5 million people have filed their income tax returns online, i.e., more than double the total population of Houston.

और दूसरी सबसे बड़ी बात जो टैक्स रिफंड महीनों में आता था, वो अब हफ्ते 10 दिन में बैंक में ट्रांसफर हो जाता है।
And the second biggest thing; The tax refund which used to come in months, is now transferred to the bank in a week or so.

तेज विकास का प्रयास कर रहे किसी भी देश में अपने नागरिकों के लिए वेलफेयर स्कीम्स आवश्यक होती हैं।
Welfare schemes are necessary for its citizens in any country striving for rapid development.  

ज़रूरतमंद लोगों के लिए वेलफेयर स्कीम्स चलाने के साथ साथ नए भारत के निर्माण के लिए कुछ चीजों का फेयरवेल भी दिया जा रहा है।
Along with running the welfare schemes for the needy people, some things are also being given to Farewell to build a new India.

हमने जितना महत्व वेलफेयर को दिया है, उतना ही फेयरवेल को भी दे रहे हैं। इस 2 अक्टूबर को जब देश महात्मा गाँधी की 50 वीं सालगिरह मनाएगा, तो भारत खुले में शौच (ओपन डेफिकेशन) को फेयरवेल दे देगा।
The importance we have given to Welfare, we are giving as much to Farewell. On this 2 October, when the country celebrates the 50th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, India will give Farewell to open defecation.

भारत पिछले 5 सालो में 1500 से भी ज़्यादा पुराने कानूनों को भी फेयरवेल दे चुका है। भारत में दर्जनों टैक्स का जो जाल था, वो भी बिज़नेस फ्रेंडली माहौल बनाने में रुकावट खड़ी करता था।
India has also given away more than 1500 old laws in the last 5 years. The trap of dozens of taxes in India also hindered the creation of a business friendly environment.

हमारी सरकार ने टैक्स के इस जाल को फेयरवेल दे दिया और GST लागू किया। भारत देश में वन नेशन वन टैक्स का सपना हमने साकार कर दिखाया है।
Our government has given farewell to multiple taxes trap and implemented GST. We have materialized the dream of “One Nation One Tax” in India.

साथियों, हम करप्शन को भी चैलेंज कर रहे हैं। उसे हर स्तर पर फेयरवेल देने के लिए एक के बाद एक कदम उठा रहे हैं।
Friends, we are also challenging corruption. Taking steps one after the other to give them Farewell at every level.

बीते 3 साल में भारत ने 3.5 लाख  से ज़्यादा संदिग्ध कंपनियों को भी फेयरवेल दे दिया है। हमने 8 करोड़ ऐसे फेक नेम्स को भी फेयरवेल दे दिया है जो सिर्फ कागजों पर थे और सरकारी स्कीम्स का फायदा उठा रहे थे।
In the last 3 years, India has also given Farewell to more than 3.5 lakh suspected companies. We have also given Farewell to 8 crore such fake names that were only on paper and taking advantage of government schemes.

साथियों, आप कल्पना कर सकते है इन फ़र्ज़ीनामों को हटाकर कितने रूपए गलत हाथों में जाने से बचाये गए हैं। करीब करीब 1.5 लाख करोड़ रूपए यानि की 20 बिलियन US Dollars।
Friends, you can imagine how much money has been saved from going into wrong hands by removing these fraud names. It’s about ₹ 1.5 lakh crores, i.e., 20 billion US Dollars

हम देश में ट्रांसपेरेंट इकोसिस्टम बना रहे हैं ताकि विकास का लाभ हर भारतीय तक पहुंचे। एक भी भारतीय विकास से दूर रहे, ये भी भारत को मंजूर नहीं है।
We are building Transparent ecosystem in the country so that the benefits of development reach every Indian. Even a single Indian, been stayed away from development, is not at all acceptable to India.

देश के सामने 70 सालों से एक और बड़ा चैलेंज था, जिसे कुछ दिन पहले भारत ने फेयरवेल दे दिया है । ये विषय है “आर्टिकल 370” का, जिसने जम्मू कश्मीर और लद्दाख के लोगों को विकास से वंचित रखा था।

भारत में हमारी पार्टी के पास राज्य सभा में बहुमत नहीं है, इसके बावजूद हमारी पार्लियामेंट के अपर हॉउस और लोअर हाउस, दोनों ने इससे जुड़े फैसलों को दो तिहाई बहुमत से पास किया है।
In India, our party does not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha, yet both the Upper House and the Lower House of our Parliament have passed the decisions related to it by two-thirds majority.

मैं यहाँ पर ज़ोर देकर कहूँगा कि इस पूरी लड़ाई में प्रेजिडेंट ट्रम्प हमारे साथ खड़े हैं।
I will emphasize here that President Trump is standing with us in this entire fight.

बीते 5 वर्षो में भारत की ग्रोथ रेट 7.5% रही है। और ये भी ध्यान रखिए कि पहले की किसी भी सरकार के पूरे कार्यकाल का अगर एवरेज देखें, तो ऐसा कभी नहीं हुआ। 
India’s growth rate in the last 5 years has been 7.5%. And also keep in mind that if you look at the average of the entire tenure of any previous government, it has never happened.

पहली बार ऐसा हुआ है, कि भारत दुनिया की बेहतरीन FBI नेशन में से एक है।
For the first time it has happened that India is one of the best FBI nations in the world.

साल 2014 से 2019 तक दो गुना बढ़ोतरी हुई है। अभी हाल में ही FDI के नॉर्म्स को आसान बनाया है। कोल माइनिंग और कॉन्ट्रैक्ट मैन्युफैक्चरिंग में विदेशी Investment अब 100% हो सकता है।
There has been a two-fold increase from 2014 to 2019. Recently, the norms of FDI have been simplified. Foreign investment in coal mining and contract manufacturing can now be 100%.

मैं कल एनर्जी सेक्टर के सीईओज से मिला। भारत ने Corporative टेक्स में भारी कमी का जो निर्णय लिया है, उससे वो सारे लोग बहुत ही उत्साहित नज़र आये।
I met the CEOs of the energy sector yesterday. The decision taken by India for a drastic reduction in corporative tax made all those people look very excited.

उनका बोलना है कि Corporative टैक्स कम करने के फैसले से सिर्फ भारत में ही नहीं बल्कि ग्लोबल बिज़नेस लीडर्स को भी बहुत पॉजिटिव मैसेज गया है। ये फैसला भारत को और ग्लोबल कॉम्पटेटिव बनाएगा।
They say that the decision to reduce corporative tax has sent a positive message, not only in India but also to global business leaders.This decision will make India more global competitive. 

साथियों, भारतीयों के लिए अमेरिका में आगे बढ़ने की अपार संभावना है। 5 ट्रिलियन इकोनॉमी के न्यू इंडिया का सफर और प्रेजिडेंट ट्रम्प के नेतृत्व में अमेरिका की मजबूत इकोनॉमी ग्रोथ, इन संभावनाओं को नए पंख लगा देंगे।
Friends, there is immense potential for Indians to move forward in America. The journey of New India to the 5 trillion economy and America’s strong economy growth under President Trump will give new wings to these possibilities.

आप अपने वतन से दूर हो लेकिन आपकी सरकार आपसे दूर नहीं है। बीते 5 वर्षों में, हमने संवाद के तरीके बदल दिए हैं। अब विदेशों में भारत के दूतावास आपकी हेल्प के लिए हैं। विदेश में काम करने वाले साथियों के लिए और उनके हितों की सुरक्षा के लिए भी सरकार लगातार काम कर रही है।
