Notice Writing | Format, Samples, Examples
Notices are written to inform people regarding events such as conventions, upcoming gatherings, etc., the notices are pinned up on display boards where groups of people can get easy access to it.
Notice Format
Notices are written in a well-defined format to have the desired effect on people. Here is one basic notice writing format:
Name of the Organization/Office
Date:
Title
Heading/Topic
Body of The Letter
Signature
Name of the Signatory:
Designation of the Signatory:
The Terminology Used
From the aforementioned format, it might become evident that notice writing involves a substantial amount of terminology. Even though they don’t appear complicated, you should be well aware of what they refer to:
Name of the Organization/Office – The first one is the name of the organization or office, which issues the notice.
Date – Date is to be written always on the left-hand side of the notice.
Title – We simply write “NOTICE” at the title. Write in capital letters only.
Heading – It gives a gist of the matter present within the notice.
Body – The Body is the main matter of the Notice.
Signature, Name, and Designation of the Signatory – Notices should always be signed by the signatory authority of the organization with his/her name and designation.
