On the verge of – के करीब / की कगार पर

Ins and outs – छोटी से छोटी बात जानना

मैं इस खेल की छोटी से छोटी बात जानता हूँ।

जब आप किसी कंपनी में वर्षों तक काम करते हैं, तो आपको उसके बारे में छोटी से छोटी बात पता चल जाती है।

मैं थोड़ी देर में आ रहा हूँ। कहीं मत जाना।

The train is about to arrive in a while.
थोड़ी देर में ट्रेन आने वाली है।

I call you in a while.
मैं आपको थोड़ी देर में फोन करता हूँ।

In the meantime – इस बीच/उस बीच

In the meantime, you can read the newspaper.
इस बीच, आप अखबार पढ़ सकते हैं।

In the meantime, I used to go to my brother’s office.
उस बीच, मैं अपने भाई के ऑफिस जाया करता था।

 At times – कभी कभी / कई बार

कभी-कभी, मुझे एहसास होता है कि मैं बहुत भाग्यशाली हूँ।

We try not to fight; but at times, we have disputes.
हम कोशिश करते हैं कि लड़ाई न करें; लेकिन कई बार हमारे बीच विवाद होते हैं।

Child’s play – बच्चों का खेल

एक नई कार असंभव है; हमारे पास पैसा बिल्कुल नहीं है।
