मैंने सन् 1998 में एक हिन्दी मीडियम स्कूल आर्य इन्टर कॉलेज, सुभाष नगर से दसवीं की। उसके बाद Govt. Polytechnic, Dehradun से इलैक्ट्रॉनिक्स इन्जीनियरिंग में तीन साल का डिप्लोमा पूरा किया। जिसके बाद मैं बी टैक करना चाहता था पर घर की आर्थिक स्थिति अच्छी न होने के कारण मेरे लिए जॉब करने के अलावा और कोई विकल्प नहीं था इसलिए मैं जॉब की तलाश में दिल्ली चला गया। मैंने अपने पॉलिटैक्निक के एक क्लासमेट गोपाल के साथ रूम साझा किया, जो पहले से ही न्यू फ्रैंड्स कॉलोनी में एक कम्पनी में जॉब करता था। करीब एक हफ्ता जॉब की तलाश करने के बाद, आखिरकार मैंने ओखला इंडस्ट्रियल एरिया फेस 2 में एक इलैक्ट्रॉनिक्स कम्पनी में ₹2800/- महीने की सैलेरी में पैकिंग की जॉब से शुरूआत की।
एक रविवार छुट्टी के दिन, मैं अपने कमरे में क्लासीफाइड में बेहतर नौकरी के लिए विज्ञापन देख रहा था कि मेरे रूम पार्टनर गोपाल का एक दोस्त आया। वो किसी कॉल सेंटर में जॉब करता था और उसकी सैलेरी लगभग ₹12000/- महीना थी। हमारे बीच काफी देर बातचीत हुई जिससे मुझे पहली बार ये पता लगा कि कॉल सेंटर में जॉब करने के लिए किसी खास डिग्री की ज़रूरत नहीं है, सिर्फ इंग्लिश बोलना आता हो तो ₹8000/- महीने की सैलेरी से शुरूआत हो सकती है। यूँ तो इंग्लिश बोलना सीखना आसान नहीं था, जो मुझे आगे चलकर महसूस भी हुआ, क्योंकि मैंने हिन्दी मीडियम स्कूल से पढ़ाई की थी और इंग्लिश का माहौल मेरे आस पास कभी नहीं रहा; लेकिन एक बात तो मेरी समझ में आ गयी थी कि कॉल सेंटर की ₹8000/- महीने की नौकरी ही मेरे पास एकमात्र विकल्प था जिसके जरिए मैं अपने प्राइवेट बी टैक करने के सपने को पूरा कर सकता था और साथ ही कुछ पैसे अपनी जीविका के लिए बचा सकता था।
कुछ महीने नौकरी करके अब तक मैंने करीब ₹3000/- सेव कर लिये थे। मैंने नौकरी छोड़ दी और ₹500/- का एक छोटा सा नया कमरा ले लिया ताकि मैं दिन भर बिना किसी डिस्टर्बेन्स के इंग्लिश सीख सकूँ। मैंने तीन महीने का लक्ष्य रखा क्योंकि मेरे पास बजट बहुत सीमित था। उन दिनों न यूट्यूब था न गूगल, सिर्फ किताबें थी। मैंने न दिन देखा न रात, सिर्फ और सिर्फ इंग्लिश ग्रामर की कुछ किताबें खरीदीं और पढ़ना शुरू कर दिया। मैं दिन में सिर्फ तीन बार बाहर निकलता था खाना खाने के लिए, बाकी हर समय सिर्फ इंग्लिश। इंग्लिश ग्रामर का हर टॉपिक मैंने मुँह ज़ुबानी रट लिया। मैं शीशे के आगे कम से कम चार से पाँच घंटे अलग अलग टॉपिक्स पर टूटी फूटी इंग्लिश बोलने की प्रैक्टिस करता रहता था। मैंने खुद से एक वादा किया कि चाहे मैं किसी से भी बात करूँ, चाहे वो मेरा कोई खास हो या पराया, सिर्फ और सिर्फ इंग्लिश ही बोलूँगा। चाहे कोई मुझपर हँसे चाहे मुझे टोके, चाहे कोई मेरा कितना भी मज़ाक उड़ाये, मैं रूक रूक कर तोड़ मरोड़कर ही सही पर बोलूँगा इंग्लिश ही क्योंकि इंग्लिश ही मेरे जीवन के आर्थिक स्तर को बढ़ा सकता है। ये बाद मैं आज भी दृढ़ता के साथ मानता हूँ कि एक गरीब और आर्थिक रूप से कमज़ोर व्यक्ति के लिए अंग्रेज़ी बोलने की काबिलियत पाना एक ब्रह्मास्त्र की तरह ही है, लेकिन इस ब्रह्मास्त्र को हासिल करना कोई मज़ाक नहीं है। शायद इतनी मेहनत मैंने ज़िन्दगी में कभी नहीं की जितनी उस वक्त की थी।
खैर, तीन महीने बाद मैंने कॉल सेंटर के इंटरव्यूज़ देना शुरू किया। तेरह बार मैं फेल हुआ और हर बार की असफलता के कारणों को सुधार सुधार कर मैंने अपनी इंग्लिश बोलने की क्षमता को निखारा। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण फीडबैक में से एक जो मुझे कॉल सेंटर के एक इन्टर्व्यू में मिला, वो था कि मैं स और श के उच्चारण के फर्क को नहीं समझ पाता था, इसी तरह से ज और ज़ के उच्चारण का फर्क। यहाँ तक कि आधे स से शुरू होने वाले शब्द भी जैसे कि स्कूल, स्टाईल, स्माईल आदि को मैं गलत तरीके से बोलता था, इस तरह इस्कूल, इस्टाईल, इस्माईल। आज भी मेरे अनुमान के हिसाब से हमारे देश के हिन्दी मीडियम स्कूल के बहुत से बच्चे ये गलती को करते हैं क्योंकि उन्हें सही उच्चारण का ज्ञान नहीं होता और सिर्फ यही वजह है कि मैं अपनी सभी वीडियोज़ में और अपनी हर किताब में उच्चारण को खासा महत्व देता हूँ।
मैंने सन् 2003 में अपने इंटरनेशनल कॉल सेंटर करियर की शुरुआत की और सन् 2009 में कॉल सेंटर इंडस्ट्री को छोड़ दिया। इन 6 सालों में मैंने कई कॉल सेंटर्स में काम किया। Sales Executive से शुरूआत और फिर Supervisor, Team Leader, Group Leader, Assistant Manager और Operations Manager तक का मेरा सफर बहुत शानदार रहा। मैं अपनी आखिरी जॉब में लगभग ₹50000/- सैलेरी कमाता था और 2009 में इतनी सैलेरी होना अपने आप में बहुत बड़ी बात थी। लेकिन इसके बावजूद, इंटरनेशनल कॉल सेंटर करियर को खत्म करने के पीछे कारण ये था कि मैंने कई गरीब युवाओं को देखा जिनके पास नौकरी नहीं थी। मैं चाहता था कि मैं उन्हें अंग्रेज़ी में सक्षम बनाऊँ ताकि वो भी कॉल सेंटर इंडस्ट्री या कोई अच्छी जॉब ज्वॉइन करके अपनी आर्थिक स्थिति को बेहतर बना सकें।
मैं उन दिनों दिल्ली में दिलशाद कालोनी में रहता था जहाँ मैंने इंग्लिश बोलना सिखाने के लिए एक छोटा सा इंस्टिट्यूट शुरू किया। सन् 2009 से 2012 तक मैंने 3000 से ज्यादा Students को इंग्लिश बोलना सिखाया, जिनमें करीब 1000 से ज़्यादा ऐसे बच्चे भी थे जो गरीबी रेखा से नीचे जीवन व्यतीत करने वाले परिवारों से थे। हाँलाकि मैं ये दावा नहीं करता कि हर कोई इंग्लिश बोलना सीख गया लेकिन मेरे प्रयास ने अगर किसी को भी थोड़ा भी सफल बनाया हो तो ये मेरे लिए हमेशा गर्व की बात है।
Nov 2012 की बात है, मैं एक दुकान पर खड़ा था जब मुझे ये पता चला कि मेरी एक Student ने Institute सिर्फ इसलिए छोड़ दिया था क्योंकि उसका परिवार रु. 300 महीने की फीस देने में भी असमर्थ था। हालाँकि उस वक्त मैंने उसकी मम्मी से कहा था कि वो उसे बिना फीस के ही भेज दें, लेकिन इस घटना ने मुझे ये महसूस कराया कि देश में कितने ऐसे लोग होंगे जिन तक निःशुल्क शिक्षा पहुँचाने की सख्त ज़रूरत है!
31 Dec 2012 की रात मुझे ऐसा सपना आया, जैसे कि कोई मुझे अंग्रेज़ी को देश के हर कमज़ोर व ज़रुरतमंद व्यक्ति तक पहुँचाने के लिए प्रेरित कर रहा हो। शायद ऐसा सपना इसलिए आया होगा क्योंकि मैं कई दिन से इसी बात के बारे में सोच रहा था और ये मेरे सबकॉन्शस माइन्ड में कहीं न कहीं था। करीब 4 बजे सपना टूटा और मैं काफी देर इस बारे में सोचता रहा। मैं सोच रहा था कि सिर्फ एक इन्स्टिट्यूट के ज़रिए तो मैं पूरे देश के गाँव गाँव के बच्चों को इंग्लिश नहीं सिखा सकता इसलिए कुछ ऐसा करना होगा जो कुछ अलग हो। मैंने अपने एक दोस्त के साथ इस बारे में बात की, फिर मन में एक वेबसाइट बनाने का ख्याल आया, जिस पर फ्री में इंग्लिश के सारे टॉपिक्स मिल जायें और बच्चे जब मर्ज़ी आकर पढ़ें और सीखें। उस वक्त वेबसाइट बनाना आज के जितना आसान नहीं था, आज तो आप WordPress पे घंटो में पूरी वेबसाइट बना सकते हैं पर उस वक्त कोडिंग करनी पड़ती थी और मुझे उसका ए बी सी डी में नहीं आता था। उन दिनों YouTube का ज़माना भी नहीं था कि मेरे मन में वीडियोज़ बनाने का ख्याल आ जाता। पर जहाँ मजबूत संकल्प हो, देर से ही सही पर वहाँ राह मिल ही जाती है।
मैंने कई वेबसाइट डिवेल्पर्स से बात की, पर वेबसाइट बनवाने का खर्च कम नहीं था। अधिकतर वेबसाइट डिवेल्पर्स ने 3 लाख से ज़्यादा की कोटेशन दी। ये आसान नहीं होने वाला था। इंस्टिट्यूट के काम से बहुत अच्छे पैसे नहीं आते थे क्योंकि मेरे आधे से ज़्यादा स्टूडेंन्स कमज़ोर बैकग्राउन्ड के थे और कई बच्चों से मैं फीस भी नहीं लेता था। मुझे फिर से एक बार आर्थिक असमर्थता का अहसास हो रहा था। इसी दौरान मैं IBPS PO Exam में पास हो गया और मेरी Allahabad Bank में सरकारी नौकरी लग गई। मैं अपना इंस्टिट्यूट कभी बन्द नहीं करना चाहता था पर मुझे समझ आ गया था कि कुछ बड़ा हासिल करने के लिए आर्थिक रूप से मजबूत होना ही होगा।
मैंने पूरी मेहनत से अपनी जॉब भी की और साथ ही साथ घर आकर इंटरनेट के माध्यम से वेबसाइट बनाना सीखने लगा। मैंने लगभग एक साल रात रात भर मेहनत करके वेबसाइट बनायी। मैं धीरे धीरे अपनी वेबसाइट के ज़रिए उन लोगों तक तो पहुँच रहा था जो इंटरनेट के बारे में जानते थे, लेकिन उनका क्या जिनके पास न कम्प्यूटर था और न ही ऐसा फोन जिसमें इंटरनेट की सुविधा हो। फिर मेरे मन में जो ख्याल आया वो था –किताबें। और अब मैं अपने अंग्रेज़ी सीखने के सफर के अनुभवों के साथ किताबें लिखता गया। जितनी मेहनत किताबें लिखने में लगी, उससे ज़्यादा मेहनत उन्हें लोगों तक पहुँचाने में। मैंने दरियागंज के कई पब्लिशर्स से बात की लेकिन मेरी किताबों को पब्लिश करने में किसी ने कोई दिलचस्पी नहीं दिखाई। मुझे एक दिलचस्प बात काफी अच्छे से याद है क्योंकि इस बात का ज़िक्र मैं खुद को मोटिवेट के लिए कई बार करता था कि एक पब्लिशर ने मुझे कहा था, “किताबें बेचने में चप्पलें घिस जायेंगी।” और मैंने बिल्कुल सटीक जवाब दिया “तो मैं नंगे पैर चलूँगा।“ करीब 3 साल मेरा स्ट्रगल चलता रहा, इस सोच के साथ कि एक दिन मैं खुद ही पब्लिशर बनूँगा और खुद ही सैलर।
Oct 2016 में एक विद्यार्थी ने मुझे ईमेल किया कि किताबों के साथ-2 अगर Video Lectures भी होता तो ये सभी students के लिए फायदेमंद होता क्योंकि वीडियोज़ के माध्यम से मुश्किल से मुश्किल कॉन्सेप्ट को आसानी से समझाया जा सकता है। मुझे लगा कि शायद ये एक बेहतर तरीका होगा और 3rd Nov 2016 को मैंने अपने Spoken English Guru YouTube Channel पर अपनी पहली वीडियो अपलोड की और यहीं से मेरी किताबों और मेरी वेबसाइट का असली सफर शुरू हुआ। July 2017 तक केवल 200 Subscribers जुड़े थे पर मैं लगभग 150 वीडियोज़ अपलोड कर चुका था। शुरूआत में मेरी सभी वीडियोज़ Windows Movie Maker software पर बनी थीं पर फिर Aug 2017 से मैंने एक व्हाईट बोर्ड पर वीडियोज़ अपलोड करनी शुरू कर दी और मुझे खुशी है कि आज 70 लाख से ज़्यादा यू ट्यूब सब्सक्राइबर्स का साथ मुझे मिला है; हालाँकि मेरे लिए नम्बर्स से ज़्यादा हमेशा ये मायने रखता है कि मेरे कितने Students अंग्रेज़ी सीखकर अपने जीवन में आगे बढ़ पायें।
आज मेरी वेबसाइट www.spokenenglish.guru पर 2 करोड़ से ज़्यादा विद्यार्थियों ने इंग्लिश के अलग अलग टॉपिक्स की मदद से अपनी अंग्रेज़ी को बेहतर किया है। आज मेरी “Spoken English Guru” English Speaking Course Kit जिसमें मेरी सभी किताबें और सभी वीडियोज़ की पैनड्राइव है, लगभग दस लाख से ज़्यादा विद्यार्थियों के पास है और ये किट Flipkart व Amazon पर भी Best Selling Products के रूप में स्थापित है। अपने इस सफर के दौरान मैं कई हिन्दी मीडियम स्कूल के बच्चों को, कई NGOs को, कई गरीब डेली वेज वर्कर्स के बच्चों को अब तक लगभग 3 लाख से ज़्यादा किताबें निशुल्क दे चुका हूँ, ताकि वो बच्चे जो आर्थिक रूप से कमज़ोर हैं, वो मेरी तरह अंग्रेज़ी को अपना ब्रहमास्त्र बनायें और अपने जीवन में आगे बढ़े; लेकिन फिर भी अभी बहुत कुछ करना बाकी है…

Sir for a long I have been practicing and watch interviews of celebrities but still not able to understand completely the sentences which is make by celebrities specially, sentence structure I try to form like them when I go for practice. sir could you tell me how it could be possible to form sentence like them and practice how I can do either by selecting an debate kind of topic or thinking about our daily routine .

When I was completely defeated because of campus interview rejection because my English communication was very bad and my confidence level was also down, just searching some videos, I saw one of your videos. So, I again charged up to try again. Still my PG have been completed and all campuses has gone. I haven’t selected any of one. My technical skills are very good instead of communication.
After watching your video, I learnt a lot. Now I can communicate with confidence but there is a lot of mistakes in speaking to me. I am still learning.

I was searching another channels in that I saw one amazing channel I.e SPOKEN ENGLISH GURU .. & I saw 1 video lecture that’s video inspired me & confident me a lots on that day .I started learning and started making a notes . I learned so many things in that Grammar VOCABs how to make a sentence this are all I learnt .. Sir, main apse bahot inspired hu.Sir apka video bhale hi english sikhata ho par mujhe usme apki Mehnat, Lagan, Nishtha,Dusron ki Help aur Pyar bhi nazar aata he(Sikhata he).
Sir, main apse ye ummeed karta hu ki ap isi tarah se humsab ko guidance karte rahenge. Aur ye bhi wada karta hu ki agli bar jab apko address karunga meri feelings to wohi hogi jo aj he par words jaroor english me honge.

I really cordially appreciate your great work and constant thinking and striving to do something for those who really can’t have without paying something prior. I wish I could find you in early 2014 when u just established a website. I am a LAW student always complaining for fluency in English speaking and writing according to grammar. Even though I joined and had left many coaching institutes had followed and practiced many books still I am confused and stuck between spoken English and written English.
We usually don’t follow grammar when we speak but we have to follow grammar rules in writing. These days I am watching your youtube video of “All verbs in English” I have watched complete 4 parts .but I need to watch over and over again to resolve queries which are arising time by time.
sir, I would appreciate it , if you advise me how to be perfect in writing means in grammar and in speaking and how to be Constant like you when you had a dream.

As per my view, it’s better if you can share your videos for beginners also so that they can start watching your videos one by one.
If you see you had shared so many videos of yours on you tube but for beginners it is very difficult to understand which video to watch first for better understanding.
