(Uske aate hi sab hasne lage.)
As soon as he came, all started laughing./
The moment he came, all started laughing./

वो मेरा ही नहीं तेरा भी दोस्त है।
(Vo mera hi nahi tera bhi dost hai.)
He is not only my friend but also yours.

जब तक तुम मेरी इज़्ज़त करोगे, मैं भी करूँगा।
(Jab tak tum meri izzat karoge, main bhi karunga.)
As long as you respect me, I will too.

 जब तक वो आया, मैं जा चुका था।
(Jab tak vo aaya , main jaa chuka tha.)
By the time he came, I had left.

जब तक आप हाँ नहीं कहेंगे, कोई नहीं हिलेगा।
(Jab tak aap han nahi kahenge, koi nahi hilega.)
Until you say yes, nobody will move.
Unless you say yes, nobody will move.
Till you don’t say yes, nobody will move.
Till the time you don’t say yes, nobody will move.

(Jaha tak mujhe pata hai vo saobhav ka achha hai.)

(Maine ye kitab kholi hi thi ki mujhe apna bachpan yaad aa gaya.)

(Sahi pata likho nahi to courier kahin or ja sakta hai.)
Write the correct address otherwise the courier may go somewhere else.

हमने अभी तक किसी को नहीं बुलाया है।
(Hamne abhi tak kisi ko nahi bulaya hai.)
We have not called/invited anyone yet.

जो मैंने पिया वो पानी नहीं कुछ और था।
(Jo maine piya wo paani nahi kuch aur tha.)
What I drank wasn’t water but something else.

इसी तरह मैं भी बड़ा हुआ।
(Isi tarah main bhi bada hua.)
That’s how even I grew up./
That’s how I grew up too./
That’s how I also grew up./
That’s how I grew up as well.

मैं न उसे कॉल कर पाया न उसे आखिरी वक्त पे देख पाया।
(Main na use call kar paya na use aakhri wakt pe dekh paya.)
I could neither call him nor see him at the last time.

मैं तुम्हारे घर के अलावा कहीं भी जा सकता हूँ।
(Main tumhare ghar ke alawa kahin bhi jaa sakta hoon.)
I can go anywhere but not your home.
I can go anywhere except your home.

क्या तुम भी वहाँ नहीं थे ?
(Kya tum bhi vahan nahi the?)
Were you not there either?
Were you not there too?
Were you not there as well?

उसने ढंग से नहीं पढ़ा इसीलिए वो परीक्षा में फेल हो गया।
(Usne dhang se nahi pada isiliye vo pareeksha me fail ho gaya.)
He didn’t study well, so he failed the exam.
He didn’t study well, hence he failed the exam.
He didn’t study well, that’s why he failed the exam.
He didn’t study well, therefore he failed the exam.
He didn’t study well, that’s the reason he failed the exam.

एक टीचर होने के नाते, मेरा फर्ज़ है कि मैं अपने स्टूडेंन्ट्स को सही इंग्लिश सिखाऊँ।
(Ek teacher hone ke naate mera farz hai ki main apne students ko sahi English sikhaun.)
As/Being a teacher, it’s my duty to teach correct English to my students.

वो साथ ही साथ उसके तीन भाई अमेरिका जा रहे हैं।
(Vo sath hi sath uske teen bhaee America jaa rahe hain.)
He as well as his 3 brothers is going to America.

क्या तुम मेरी उम्र के हो ?
(Kya tum meri umr ke ho?)
Are you as old as I am? / Are you my age?

हालाँकि मेरे पास पैसे नहीं  हैं, पर इसके बावजूद मैं तुम्हारी मदद करुँगा।
(Halanki mere pass paise nahi hai, par iske bawajood main tumhaari madad karunga.)
Although I don’t have money, still I will help you./
Though I don’t have money, still I will help you./
Even if I don’t have money, still I will help you./
Even though I don’t have money, still I will help you.

Instead of “still”, we can use “Then also, Even then, Yet, However, and Nevertheless”.

 ऐसी कई कहानियाँ मैं सुन चुका हूँ।
(Aisi kaee kahaniyan main sun chuka hun.)
I have heard many such stories./
I have heard many stories of this kind./
I have heard many stories of this type.

तुम तो मुझे ऐसे डाँट रहे हो जैसे कि तुम मेरे बॉस हो।
(Tum to mujhe aise daant rahe ho jaise ki tum mere boss ho.)
You are scolding me as if you are my boss./
You are scolding me as though you are my boss.

वो नहीं जा पाया। न मैं जा पाया।
(Vo nahi jaa paaya. Na main jaa paaya.)
He couldn’t go. I couldn’t go either./
He couldn’t go. Neither could I./
He couldn’t go. Nor could I.

मैंने तुमसे पूछा। उसने भी।
(Maine tumse poocha. Usne bhi.)
I asked you. He asked too./
I asked you. So did he.

मैं किताब वापस कर दूँगा पर तब जब आप मुझ पर पैनल्टी न लगाओ।
(Main kitaab vapas kar dunga par tab jab aap mujh par penalty na lagao.)
I’ll return the book, provided you don’t impose a penalty on me./
I’ll return the book, but only if you don’t impose a penalty on me./
I’ll return the book, but only when you don’t impose a penalty on me.

यही तो तुम उसे समझा रहे थे।  
(Yahi to tum use samjha rahe the.)
That’s what you were making him understand.

वही लड़का तो मैंने वहाँ देखा।
(Vahi ladka to maine vahan dekha.)
That’s the boy I saw there.

मैंने ऐसे ही तो क्रिकेट खेलना सीखा।
(Maine aise hi to cricket khelna seekha.)
That’s how I learned to play cricket./
This is how I learned to play cricket.

मेरे पास 10 ₹ हैं जबकि तुम्हारे पास 50 ₹।
(Mere pass 10 ₹ hai jabki tumhaare pass 50 ₹.)
I have Rs 10 whereas you have 50. /
I have Rs 10 while you have 50.

क्या तुम्हारा भाई अभी भी खेलता है ?
(Kya tumhaara bhaee abhi bhi khelta hai?)
Does your brother still play?
Does your brother play even now?

चाहे पंकज खेले या न खेले, तुम्हें खेलना चाहिए।
(Chahe Pankaj khele ya na khele, tumhe khelna chahiye.)
Whether Pankaj plays or not, you should play.

हमें नहीं पता कि वो वहाँ जाता है या कहीं और।  
(Hume nahi pata ki vo vahan jaata hai ya kahi aur.)
We have no idea whether he goes there or somewhere else.

मैं पहुँचा ही था कि वो दोनों आ गये।       
(Main pahuncha hi tha ki vo dono aa gye.)
I had hardly reached when they both came.
No sooner had I reached than they both came.
As soon as I reached, they both came.
The moment I reached, they both came.

अब तक का स्कोर क्या है?
(Ab tak ka score kya hai?)
What’s the score so far?
What’s the score by now?
What’s the score till now?

भले ही ट्रेन 2 घंटे लेट आये, हमें आज जाना है।
(Bhale hi train 2 ghante late aaye, hame aaj jana hai.)
Even if the train comes late by 2 hrs, we have to go today./
Even though the train comes late by 2 hrs, we have to go today.

उसने मेरा हालचाल तक नहीं पूछा।
(Usne mera halchal tak nahi poochha.)
He didn’t even ask about my condition./
He didn’t even ask me how I was.
