Translation Exercise # 13

क्या कभी किसी ने सोचा होगा कि एक दिन हम चाँद पर होंगे ! ये सपने जैसा ही था, है ना ? लेकिन अब लगता है कि ये निकट भविष्य में सम्भव होने वाला है। ठीक इसी तरह , जो भी कुछ आज हमें मुश्किल लगता है , वो जरुरी नहीं मुश्किल हो। इसलिए , हमें कम से कम प्रयास ज़रूर करना चाहिए। और साथ ही , हमें धैर्य भी रखना चाहिए  क्योंकि अगर कोई चीज़ उतनी मुश्किल नहीं है , तो उतनी आसान भी नहीं है।
Kya kabhi kisi ne socha hoga ki ek din hum chaand par honge! Ye sapne jaisa hi tha, hai na ? Lekin ab lagta hai ki ye nikat future me possible hone wala hai. Theek isi tarah, jo bhi kuchh hame aaj hamein mushkil lagta hai, vo zaroori nahi mushkil ho. Isliye, hamein kam se kam prayaas zaroor karna chahiye. Aur sath hi, hamein patience bhi rakhna chahiye kyonki agar koi cheez utni mushkil nahi hai,to utni aasaan bhi nahi hai.
Would one have ever thought that one day, we will be on the moon! It was just like a dream, wasn’t it? But now it seems that it is going to be possible in the near future. Similarly, whatever seems difficult to us today is not necessarily difficult (out of the reach). Therefore, we must at least try. As well, we should keep patience because something, if not that difficult, is not that easy either.

अगर मैं कहूँ कि कोई व्यक्ति केवल 6 महीने के अन्दर एक लाख रूपये महीना कमा सकते है, वो भी घर से काम करके ; तो आपको हैरानी ज़रूर होगी। लेकिन ब्लॉगिंग आज एक ऐसा करियर है जिसने ये सम्भव कर दिया है। इसलिए मैंने फैसला लिया है कि मैं अपने देश के युवाओं को सक्षम बनाऊँगा कि कैसे ब्लॉगिंग के ज़रिये अपना भविष्य बना सकते है और अच्छा पैसा कमा सकते हैं। मैं इस प्रोजेक्ट पर दिन रात काम कर रहा हूँ जिसे मैंने नाम दिया है www.wemakebloggers.com 
Agar main kahoon ki koi vyakti keval 6 month ke andar 1 lakh mahina kama sakta hai, vo bhi ghar se kaam karke; to aapko hairani zaroor hogi. Lekin, blogging aaj ek aisa career option hai jisne ye possible kar diya hai. Isliye mene fiasla liya hai ki main apna desh ke youth ko saksham banaunga ki kaise vo blogging ke zariye apna future bana sakte hain pr achha paisa kama sakte hain. Main is project par din raat kaam kar raha hoon jise maine naam diya hai www.wemakebloggers.com 
If I say that one can earn 1 Lakh a month within only 6 month, that too working from home; you will surely be amazed. But Blogging is such a career option today that has made it possible. Therefore, I’ve decided that I’ll empower the youth of my country on how they can make their career through blogging and earn good money. I’m working on this project day and night that I’ve named www.wemakebloggers.com

Translation Exercise # 11

पक्का उसने सोचा होगा कि लोग उसकी कमज़ोरियों की हँसी नहीं उड़ायेंगे; पर शायद वो नहीं जानता था कि उसके आसपास ऐसे कई लोग हैं जिन्हें दूसरों को नीचा दिखाने में बहुत मज़ा आता है। शायद उसने सोचा हो कि उसके दोस्त हाथ बढ़ायेंगे और उसकी ताकत बनेंगे।
Pakka usne socha hoga ki log uski kamzoriyon ki hansse udayenge; par shayad vo nahi janta tha ki uske aaspass aise kai log hain jinhe doosron ko neecha dikhane me bahut maza aata hai. shayad usne socha ho ki uske dost haath badayenge or uski yaakat banenge.
He must have thought that people would not mock his weaknesses, but maybe he didn’t know that there were many such people around him who enjoyed a lot belittling others. He might have thought that his friends would lend him their hands and become his strength.

Translation Exercise # 10

ज़ाहिर है कि आप एक ही जोक को बार बार सुनकर बोर हो जाते हैं और आपको हँसी भी  नहीं आती। ठीक उसी तरह से, एक ही समस्या को लेकर बार बार रोना समस्या का हल नहीं है। हर किसी को अपनी समस्या के बारे में बताकर समय व ऊर्जा को व्यर्थ न करे। केवल अपने खास मित्रो से साझा करे और खुद ही हल ढूढ़ने का प्रयास करें।
Zahir hai ki aap ek hi joke ko baar baar sunker bore ho jaate hain. Or apko haseen bhi nahi aati. Thik ushi tarah se, ek hi samasya ko lekar baar baar rona samasya ka hal nahi hai. Har kisi ko apni samasya ke bare main batakar time or energy ko waste na kare. Kewal apne khaas mitron se share kare or khud hi hal doondne ka prayas kare.
It’s obvious that you get bored by listening to the same joke again and again and you don’t feel laughter. Similarly, crying over the same problem repeatedly is not the solution. Don’t waste your time and energy by telling everyone about your problem. Only share with your close friends and try to look for the solution yourself.

Translation Exercise # 9

वो अपने घर का अकेला कमाने वाला था। परसों, मैंने उसे दूर एक कोने में बैठे देखा। लग रहा था कि वो ध्यान से कुछ सोच रहा है। उसने बताया कि उसे महीनों से बोनस नहीं मिला है। पर आज सुबह ही जब उसके भाई से बात हुई तो पता चला, बोनस तो दूर, उसे महीनों से सैलेरी तक नहीं मिली है।
Vah apane ghar ka akela kamaane vaala tha. Parason, maine use door ek kone mein baithe dekha. Lag raha tha ki vah dhyaan se kuchh soch raha hai. usane bataaya ki use maheenon se bonus nahin mila hai. Par aaj subah hi jab uske bhai se baat hui to pata chala, bonus to door, use maheenon se salary tak nahin mili hai.
He was the lone breadwinner (the only earner) of his house. The day before yesterday, I saw him sitting at a distant corner.  He seemed to be pondering over something. (It seemed that he was pondering over something.) He let me know (told me) that he hadn’t received (got) a bonus for months. But, just in the morning today, when I had a word (spoke) with his brother, I got to know that leave the bonus (the bonus is a farfetched thing), he hadn’t even got his salary for months.

Translation Exercise # 8

ईंटों पर रखे लकडी के तख्ते और  रेत और बजरी के ढेर अक्सर मुझे बीते कल की याद दिला देते हैं। मैं जब छोटा था, तो अक्सर अपने पिताजी को मजदूरी करते देखा करता था। वो भले ही एक दिहाडी मजदूर थे, पर उन्होंने हमेशा मेरी पढाई पर जोर दिया और मुझे अमीर बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया। आज मैं जो भी हूँ, सारा श्रेय उन्हीं को जाता है।
Eenton par rakhe lakadi ke takhte aur ret aur bajari ke dher aksar mujhe beete kal kee yaad dilaa dete hain. Main jab chhota tha, to aksar apne pitaaji ko majadoori karate dekha karta tha. Vo bhale hee ek dihaadee majadoor the, par unhonne hamesha meri padhai par zor diya aur mujhe ameer banane ke lie prerit kiya. Aaj main jo bhi hoon, saara shrey unhi ko jaata hai.
The wooden battens/planks kept on the bricks and the piles of sand and gravel often remind me of the past (a bygone era). When I was little (a kid), I would (used to) often see my father doing wages. Even if/though he was a daily wage laborer, but/yet/still he always forced/insisted me to study and inspired/motivated me to become rich. Whatever I am today, all credit goes to him.

Translation Exercise # 7

खिड़की खोलते ही मुझे पता चल गया कि वो कोई लड़का नहीं बल्कि लड़की है। वो कई पुरूष अभिनेताओं की हूबहू नकल कर सकती है। लगता ही नहीं कि आवाज किसी और की है। जब मैंने पहली बार उसकी मिमिक्री सुनी, तो मैं पागल हो गया। जब से वो इंडस्ट्री में है, मैं उसका फैन हूं।
Khidakee kholate hee mujhe pata chal raha tha ki vah koee ladaka nahin balki ladakee hai. Vo kaee male actors kee hoobahoo nakal kar sakatee hai. Lagata hi nahin ki awaaz kisi or ki hai. Jab mainne pahalee baar usakee mimikree sunee, to main paagal ho gaya. Jab se vo industry mein hai, main usaka fan hoon.
The moment I opened the window, I got to know that it was not a boy but a girl. She can mimic several male actors precisely. It doesn’t seem/look like somebody else’s voice. When I heard her mimicry for the first time, I was speechless. Ever since she has been in the industry, I’m her fan.

Translation Exercise # 6

एक बार की बात है, एक शेर रास्ते के किनारे लगे बरगद के पेड़ के नीचे सो रहा था। एक चींटी उसी रास्ते से जा रही थी। वो गलती से शेर के ऊपर चढ गयी। नींद खराब होने पर, शेर तेज दहाडते हुए उठा। वो चींटी पर चिल्लाया “तुम्हारी हिम्मत कैसे हुई मुझे परेशान करने की?” चींटी मौत के डर से काँपने लगी।
Ek baar kee baat hai, ek sher raaste ke kinaare lage baragad ke ped ke neeche so raha tha. Ek cheenti usi raaste se ja rahee thi. Vo galatee se sher ke oopar chadh gayee. Neend kharaab hone par, sher tez dahaadte hue utha. Vo cheenti par chillaaya “tumhaari himmat kaise hui mujhe pareshaan karane ki?” Cheenti maut ke dar se kaanpane lagi.
Once upon a time, a lion was sleeping under a banyan tree at the roadside/by the side of the road/ alongside the road. An ant was going (walking) through the same path (road). She accidentally/mistakenly went over/upon/on the lion. On his sleep being disturbed, the lion woke up roaring loud (in/with a loud roar). He yelled/shouted at the ant “How dare you bother me?” The ant started shivering/trembling (began to shiver/tremble) with the fear of death.

Hindi to English Translation # 5

थोड़ी ही देर बाद आग बुझा देना वरना चारों तरफ फैल जाएगी। यह कहकर, वह चल दिया; लेकिन उसे भी क्या पता था, जिसे उसने ये कहा था, उसका पूरा ध्यान तो मोबाइल पर गेम खेलने पर था। वैसे तो उसे खुद ही आग बुझा देनी चाहिए थी; लेकिन फिर भी, इसका ये मतलब तो नहीं है न, कि दूसरा व्यक्ति परवाह तक न करें। अगर मैंने समय रहते इस पर ध्यान नहीं दिया होता, तो यह घातक हो सकता था।
Thodi hi der baad aag bujha dena varna chaaron taraf phail jaegi. Yah kahkar, vah chal diya, lekin use bhi kya pata tha, jise usane ye kaha tha, usaka poora dhyaan to mobile par game khelane par tha. Vaise to use khud hi aag bujha deni chaahie thi; lekin phir bhi, iska ye matlab to nahin hai na, ki doosra vyakti parvaah tak na kare. Agar mene samay rahte is par dhyaan nahin diya hota, to yah ghaatak ho sakata tha.
Put out (Extinguish) the fire just after a while or else(otherwise) it will spread all around. After saying this, he walked away; but he had no idea, whom he had said that (so), had the whole focus on playing games on mobile. Though, he should have extinguished it (put it out) himself, but still, it doesn’t mean that the other person doesn’t even care. If I hadn’t noticed well before time, it could have been devastating/fatal/hazardous/dangerous/ perilous/precarious/unsafe/threatening.

Translate into English # 4

कुछ हद तक, उसकी बात सही है; लेकिन पूरी तरह नहीं। अगर आप इसके दूसरे पहलू पर गौर करें, तो आप पायेंगे कि जो बात मैं कह रहा हूँ, उसमें भी दम है। कोर्ट किसी भी पक्ष की बात सुने बिना फैसला नहीं दे सकता। अच्छा, दूसरी बात ये है कि आप ये भी तो देखिए कि कितने लोग उस वक्त वहाँ खडे थे। अगर एकाद दो होते, तो कोई कुछ नहीं कहता; लेकिन वहाँ तो 50 से ज्यादा लोग थे। और ऊपर से, आसपास पुलिस भी नहीं दिख रही थी। एक पल के लिए तो मुझे लगा था कि मैं गया, पर भगवान का शुक्र है कि मैं सही सलामत हूँ।
Kuchh had tak, uski baat sahi hai; lekin poori tarah nahi. Agar aap iske doosare pahaloo par gaur karen, to aap paayenge ki jo baat main kah raha hoon, usme bhi dam hai. Court kisi bhi paksh ki baat ko sune bina faisala nahi de sakta. Achchha, doosri baat ye hai ki aap ye bhi to dekhiye ki kitne log us vakt vahaan khade the. Agar ekaad do hote, to koi kuchh nahin kahta; lekin vahaan to 50 se zyada log the. Aur upar se, aaspaas police bhi nahi dikh rahi thi. Ek pal ke lie to mujhe laga tha ki main gaya, par bhagwan ka shukr hai ki main sahi salaamat hu.
To some extent, he is right; But not quite/completely. If you look at the other aspect of this, you will find that the thing I am saying is logical too. Hindi to English Translation # 3

इस रूम में, जहाँ मैं आपको पढा रहा हूँ,  एक split ac है। इसका जो पाईप है, जहाँ से ये दीवार के छेद के रास्ते बाहर जा रहा है, बाहर की तरफ एक चिडिया ने घोंसला बना दिया है। कल मैंने कुछ चीं चीं की आवाज सुनी। जब बाहर गया तो मैंने घोंसले में चिडिया के तीन बच्चे देखे। अब जब वो सोते हैं, केवल तभी वीडियोज बना पा रहा हूँ।
Is room mein, jahaan main aapako padha raha hoon,  ek split ach hai. Isaka jo pipe hai, jahaan se ye deevaar ke chhed ke raaste baahar ja raha hai, baahar kee taraph ek chidiya ne ghonsala bana diya hai. Kal mainne kuchh cheen cheen kee aavaaj sunee. Jab baahar gaya to mainne ghonsale mein chidiya ke teen bachche dekhe.  Ab jab vo sote hain, keval tabhee videos bana pa raha hoon.
This room, where I am teaching you, has a split AC. (In this room, where I am teaching you, there is a split ac.) Its pipe, from where it is going out, through the hole in the wall; a bird has made a nest on the outside. Yesterday, I heard some chirping. When I went outside, I saw three chicks (baby birds) in the nest.  Now, only when they sleep, I am able to make videos.

Hindi to English Translation # 2

कभी मैं गाय को हरी सब्जियाँ खिला देता था, चींटी को चीनी, कौए को रोटी, बिल्ली को दूध, कुत्तों को माँस वगैरह वगैरह। लोग अक्सर पूछते थे, “क्यों करते हो?” वो कहते थे, “फल की इच्छा में किया गया कोई भी काम किसी काम का नहीं होता।” मैंने कभी बहस नहीं की, लेकिन हमेशा माना,”भले ही मैंने पुण्य की चाह में किया, कम से कम किया तो। मैं उनसे तो बेहतर हूँ, जिन्होंने कुछ नहीं किया।“
Kabhi main cow ko hari sabziyaan khila deta tha, cheenti ko cheeni, crow ko roti, cat ko doodh, dogs ko meat vagairah vagairah. Log aksar poochhate the, “kyon karate ho?” Vo kahate the, “fal ki ichchha mein kiya gaya koi bhi kaam kisi kaam ka nahin hota.” Mainne kabhi bahas nahin ki, lekin hamesha maana, “Bhale hi maine punya ki chaah mein kiya, kam se kam kiya to. Main unse to behtar hu, jinhone kuchh nahin kiya.”
Sometimes I used to feed(fetch) green vegetables to the cow, sugar to the ant, bread to the crow, milk to the cat, meat to the dogs, etc. People would often ask, “Why do you do this?” They would say, “Any work done in the desire of fruit is of no use.” I never argued but always believed, “Even if I did for the sake of virtue (for the will of the fruit), at least I did it. I’m better than those who did nothing.”

Translation Exercise # 1

हवा बहुत तेज़ थी। इतनी तेज़ कि ये किसी को भी दूर फेंक सकती थी। मैं बस 5 मिनट पहले ही गाड़ी चलाकर घर वापस पहुँचा था। चारों ओर अँधेरा था। मैंने किसी के कदमों की आहट सुनी। मैं डर के मारे काँपने लगा। अचानक से ऐसा लगा मानो एक इन्सानी छाया दबे पाँव मुख्य दरवाजे की ओर गयी। हाँलाकि ये डरावना था, फिर भी मैं किसी तरह उसके पीछे जाने का साहस जुटा सका। ये कोई ओर नहीं बल्कि मेरा छोटा भाई अमन था।
Hawa bahut tez thi. Itni tez ki kisi ko bhi door faink sakti thi. Main bas 5 minute pahle hi gaadi chalakar ghar wapas pahuncha tha. Chaaron or andhera tha. Maine kisi ke kadamo ki aahat suni. Maine dar ke mare kaampne laga. Achanak se esa lga maano ek human shadow dabe paaon door ki or gayi. Haalaanki ye daraavana tha, fir bhi main kisi tarah uske peechhe jaane ka saahas juta saka. Yeh koi or nahi balki mera chota bhai Aman tha.
The wind was very strong. So strong that it could blow anyone away. I had driven back home just 5 minutes ago. It was dark all around. I heard someone’s footsteps. I began to shiver with fear. Suddenly, it seemed as if a human shadow tiptoed towards the main door. though it was terrifying. Still, I could somehow gain the courage to go after him.
